Amanda Foster is the owner of Happy Hiker, a beloved outdoor lifestyle shop in Ruidoso’s Midtown District, and a proud member of the Ruidoso community. A graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Amanda holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing. She brings more than 15 years of healthcare experience to her work—from traveling nurse to ER clinician to executive-level leadership.

Together with her husband and business partner, Jerod Foster, Amanda shares a passion for the outdoors and small-town life. They’re raising three adventurous daughters—Eva, Lola, and Emmy—who can often be found hiking, exploring, or helping out at the shop.

Outside of business, Amanda co-founded the Ruidoso Together Foundation, which raised $30,000 in 2024 to support local wildfire and flood relief efforts. She’s also behind the launch of a new family-friendly trail run that benefits a scholarship fund for graduating Ruidoso seniors—yet another way she’s helping others connect with the land and each other.
